On Sunday May 28th, the Thorold Lions Club will be hosting the Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides. This fundraiser helps provide life-changing dog guides to Canadians across the country. It costs approximately $25,000 to train a dog guide for various purposes. We’re hoping to build on the foundation of our previous walks and raise $2,500 towards the cost of training a dog guide.
You don’t need to have a dog to participate in the walk, and you certainly don’t need to have a dog to sponsor one of our walkers! Please visit https://www.walkfordogguides.com/locations/walk.cfm?ID=1233 to register for the walk or to make an online donation to one of our walkers.
This year Pet Valu is the title sponsor of the Walk for Dog Guides. We hope you’ll support them in their sponsorship efforts as well!
The walk starts from the parking lot at Club Capri, 36 Cleveland St., Thorold. Registration starts at 10:00 and the walk begins at 10:30. The route’s not that long, so you should be finished well before noon. The route is still being worked out, so stay tuned 🙂
We hope to see you on May 28th!
